Who is behind Akkubrief
Akkubrief is independent by design: we do not sell cars and we belong to no manufacturer. We estimate battery health from your car's real charging and driving history, traceably and with an open methodology. And we say plainly what such an estimate can and cannot do.

Deliberately a one-person project
Behind Akkubrief is Georg Wächter. Instead of a team collage and stock-photo office you'll find a name, a face and a methodology anyone can read.
The idea came from my own car: a classic battery test meant ordering a box by post, running the car from 100% down to 10% within a week and shipping the device back, all for €118. Yet the charging data an EV records anyway tells the same story. That observation became Akkubrief: the battery history without hardware, verifiable by any buyer in the browser.
How you can hold us to account
Instead of badges, we give you things you can check yourself. Three of them:
Open methodology
Every formula, every threshold and every change is publicly documented, with a versioned changelog. You do not have to take our word for it: you can read it.
Read the methodology →Preregistered study
Before we advertise accuracy, we validate: with open outcomes and an external timestamp on OSF (DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/FAJBU).
Study protocol →Verifiable certificates
Every certificate is cryptographically signed and verifiable in the browser, with no account and no app. Try it on the sample.
