The entry point with 377 km WLTP — dropped from the range for model year 2027, so on the used market it is a clearly bounded offer of the 2025/2026 build years.

The solid middle of the range. Important for judging future used cars: from model year 2027 the 60 carries an LFP battery — different charging behaviour (DC 105 instead of 165 kW) and different care recommendations than NMC.

The range champion (up to 573 km WLTP) and the model's most important buying check: from calendar week 24 of 2025, Skoda switched the 85's cell supplier from LG to CATL and cut DC charging power from 175 to 135 kW — capacity unchanged. Dealers partly offered affected customers a price reduction. For model year 2027 Skoda raises the charging power back to 165 kW.

The flagship was untouched by the cell switch and charges fastest in the range. Too young for long-term figures.

The Elroq is Skoda's second MEB model — built in Mladá Boleslav since January 2025 and rated by the ADAC at an overall 1.6, the best EV of the lower mid-class it has tested so far. The 'used market' is really a pre-registration market: over 850 listings with a typical 25 km on the clock, median around €43,000, real prices from about €31,000. The battery question reads differently here than on old used cars — but it does come up.
The one thing buyers must know: the cell switch on the 85
From calendar week 24 of 2025, Skoda switched the Elroq 85's cell supplier from LG to CATL — and cut DC charging power from 175 to 135 kW. Capacity (77 kWh net) and the 10–80% time (28 minutes per the ADAC) stayed the same because the new charging curve is flatter; at peak, an early 85 is still noticeably faster (ADAC measurement on the LG car: 179.7 kW). Dealers partly offered affected customers a price reduction. When buying a used 85, the production date therefore belongs in the first question — the 50, 60 and RS were not affected, and model year 2027 brings 165 kW back.
Too young for long-term data — the platform is not
Elroq-specific long-term series do not exist yet; first forum readings sit around 98.6% SoH at 12,000 km, and brand-new cars often show a flat '100%' (early buffer). The MEB platform itself, however, is documented like no other: the ADAC endurance test of the ID.3 Pro S still held 93% at 102,505 km and 89% at 220,158 km — verdict 'very stable condition'. From model year 2027, the LFP battery in the 60 brings a second cell chemistry into the range, with charging behaviour of its own.
What to check before buying
- On the 85: clarify the cell batch. Ask for the production date or the actual DC peak (175 vs 135 kW) — on the Elroq this is the biggest value-relevant difference between outwardly identical cars.
- Ask how long it has been standing. Pre-registered cars often sit on the lot for months — and the MEB-typical 12 V battery drains when parked (documented: 29% left after 5 days in an underground car park). Before the test drive: does everything start without warnings?
- Do the maths against a discounted new car. With average new-car discounts of almost €9,000, a young used Elroq has to sit noticeably below that to be worth it.
- Document the SoH from day one. Via OBD and Car Scanner ('maximum energy content') the value is read in minutes. On a car this young the documented history starts now — whoever keeps it has the proof at resale in three years that the market will by then expect.
